University of Lethbridge researchers are currently entitled to discounts and waivers on author processing charges (APCs) for open access (OA) journal articles published by certain publishers. These discounts and waivers have been negotiated into agreements by the consortia that manage our licenses with scholarly publishers.
The Canadian Research Knowledge Network (CRKN) has negotiated APC discounts and waivers with the following publishers:
- American Chemical Society
- Cambridge University Press
- Canadian Science Publishing
- Elsevier ScienceDirect
- Institute of Physics
- Royal Society of Chemistry
- SAGE
- Taylor & Francis
- Wiley

Additionally, the Council of Prairie and Pacific University Libraries (COPPUL) has negotiated an agreement with the Microbiology Society such that researchers affiliated with the University of Lethbridge may freely publish an unlimited number of OA articles in hybrid and fully OA society journals.
