The Ontario School Boards' Association has recently released two copyright updates.  The first, issued in June, indicates an intention to work jointly with school boards in other jurisdictions to object to the June 16, 2012 Access Copyright proposed tariff for educational institutions for 2013-2015. The second, issued this month, states that "recent legislative and judicial changes to the Canadian Copyright Act have immediate and important implications for member boards," and that "member boards will need to make policy and procedural changes centrally and communicate these procedures out to the schools in order to receive the full benefit of these recent changes."

And in our province, Alberta Education and the 2Learn.ca Education Society sponsored a day-long Coping With Copyright workshop on October 4, 2012, facilitated by Michael Geist.
