Access Copyright announced today that it has taken three legal actions against ministries of education, school boards and postsecondary institutions that have opted to operate outside of an Access Copyright license or tariff. One of the three actions, a lawsuit against York University, "alleges that York's purported fair dealing guidelines authorize and encourage copying that is not supported by the law, and that there is no justification to operate outside of the interim tariff."
