On September 22, 2017, York University filed an appeal of the Federal Court decision in the suit launched by Access Copyright regarding York’s non-payment of the 2011-2013 postsecondary interim tariff.  Among other things, York’s appeal asks the Federal Court of Appeal to set aside the July 12, 2017 decision and to grant York the declarations it sought from the Federal Court regarding its Fair Dealing Guidelines and the voluntary nature of the interim tariff.

On September 7, 2017, Copibec published notice of its authorized class action against Laval University.  Authors who do not wish to be part of this class action have until October 16 2017 to opt out.  Copibec has created a webpage that provides a chronology of dates and events relevant to its class action.
