On December 13, 2018, Parliament passed an omnibus bill containing amendments to the Notice and Notice provisions of the Canadian Copyright Act. The amended sections prohibit the inclusion of settlement offers and demands for settlement payments in notices of alleged infringement sent by copyright owners to ISPs for forwarding to clients associated with particular IP addresses.
