Socializing - Innovating - Collaborating
Project Sandbox is an ongoing examination into the enhancement of student learning through providing tools, space, collaborative opportunities and education. The intent of this project is to come away with answers for users’ needs/wants and how to establish a space that is given value through the input of the people that use it.
Technology and Existential Dread
The University of Lethbridge Library’s Project Sandbox initiative is hosting our first Game Jam! Starting Tuesday, February 18th, 2020 at 10am until Thursday, February 20, 2020 at 4pm, you and your (optional) team have 48 hours to create a game that adheres to a particular theme (which will be revealed at the start of the competition). All Game Jam entries must be submitted by 12pm on February 20th, 2020 to qualify for prizes. You may create a game with any medium of your choosing. Games can be created with Unity, Raspberry Pis and the Sense HAT, Twine, Metaverse and any other digital platform available to you. Alternatively, low tech options are also an acceptable form of game creation: such as making your own board game, or using the Makey Makeys and cardboard. All participants of the Game Jam will have to register individually, but you will be able to submit the members of your pre-made team on the day of the event. If you do not have a pre-made team, you can opt into being placed onto a team or can choose to work on your own. At the end of the 48 hours, you will have the chance to show off all your hard work in a public showcase. Good luck and happy Game Jamming!
