Live Workshops and Events

Time: Thursday, October 29 | 1 - 4pm

Location: Microsoft Teams

Come and join us for our second online Project Sandbox Craft n' Chill event. During this event, you will be able to hang out with other members from the University community and paint your miniatures! If miniature painting isn't your thing, fear not, you may create with any medium you choose. If you would rather just chat, that is okay too.

Ensure you register on the uLethbridge MyExperience platform if you plan on attending this event. An e-mail will be sent to you through this platform 24 hours prior to this event containing a link for a Microsoft Teams meeting. Feel free to join the event anytime between 1 – 4pm on Sept. 24. Recommended materials:

  • Acrylic paints (high pigment if possible)
  • Fine brushes
  • Wet palette: foil plate, parchment paper
  • Paper towel
  • Cup of water
  • Your favourite miniature (or canvas)

Come and join us for the final online Project Sandbox Craft n' Chill event of the semester. During this event, you will be able to hang out with other members from the University community and create a shadowbox project! If shadowboxes aren't your thing, fear not, you may create with any medium you choose. If you would rather just chat, that is okay too.

Recommended materials:

  • Shadow box or cardboard (to build your own)
  • Card stock paper/construction paper/printer paper
  • Utility knife /box cutter or sharp pair of scissors
  • Ruler
  • White glue + brush (preferred) or glue stick or tape
  • Template (available on the message board)
  • Pencil and eraser
  • Marker
  • Paint (to paint the frame, or your layers)

Self-paced Workshops

This asynchronous workshop walks participants through the process of creating and managing their own WordPress website. Participants will learn how to:

  • Customize the look and feel of their website
  • Add blog posts
  • Add new webpages
  • Add functionality to their site
  • Use basic HTML and CSS

Participants can complete this workshop by accessing the Project Sandbox Moodle course. Once in the course, participants will be directed to watch a video and complete a series of activites within the WordPress platform. After ALL activities have been completed, participants will submit a link to their completed website in the assignment submission area on the Moodle page. Participants who do not complete all of the activites will receive an e-mail detailing the activities they have not completed. Submissions that have all completed elements, will show as being complete on the Student Experience Transcript two to three weeks after being submitted. This delay is in place to allow time for the submission to be adequently reviewed.
