The following websites have been developed by the Lethbridge Curriculum Developers Group over the past four years. The websites include a detailed outline of key pedagogical concepts with a plethora of resources demonstrating how they can be applied in practice. Read through the Foundations on the website and then explore the resources to see how they have been applied. You could also use the resources yourself if you want to develop your French language abilities.
- TBLT French Resources
This is the primary webpage that explores task-based language teaching, intercultural communicative competence, general foundations of language learning, and assessment in the second language classroom. It also has numerous clusters and tasks to explore. - Task-Based Beginner French ModuleThis is an entire grade four French program teachers can use. In particular, look at how portfolios can be used in the language classroom by looking at “My Personal Language Portfolio” in the Resources section.
- French Language GamesThis website includes a variety of language games that can be used in any classroom. If you want to test your French abilities and have fun, play the Bingo games that have been developed using PowerPoint.
- Explore French Through MusicThis website is still under construction, but it contains numerous applications of music to the French classroom.
