Finding audiovisual sources

The library has a large collection of educational DVDs, videos, LPs and CDs. We also support Film Studies courses and have a significant collection of motion pictures.

Search the library catalogue by Title if you already know the title of the film or sound recording.

Search by KEYWORD when you don't know the Subject Heading. Browse your results, using the assigned Subject Headings to find more audiovisual resources on your topic. Remember to limit your search to MATERIAL TYPE --> film/video or sound recording.

Motion pictures are shelved alphabetically by the title of the film and can be browsed physically or virtually under the call number PN 1997. The physical collection is housed on level 10 south of the University Library

In addition to being a public producer and distributor of Canadian content, a talent incubator and a showcase for the country’s filmmakers and artists, it is the caretaker of an accessible, living audiovisual heritage that belongs to all Canadians. This database includes 500+ films available for educators that are labeled "CAMPUS".

Films on Demand provides access to over forty thousand educational films on a wide range of subjects designed to support and enhance the college curriculum. Short educational videos, full-length documentaries, interviews, debates, and archival footage are all represented from over 40 producers including BBC Worldwide, PBS, Films for the Humanities and Science, National Geographic, HBO, Intellecom Learning, and others.
