This guide is intended to provide guidance for students researching in the area of Theatre and Dramatic Arts.

Finding books

Select Advanced Search from the library homepage (under the long search bar) if you already know the item you are looking for. Then, you can search specifically by Title (click the drop down arrow to change from the default search All Fields). Or search by Author to find everything written by that person.

Not sure how to begin? Search by KEYWORD (usually a noun) to get started, or if you are looking for something published in an anthology or collection. Browse through your list of results, and when you find an item on your topic, look at the Subjects or Subject Headings listed in its description.

Searching by Subject is an efficient strategy for finding additional materials on your topic, or literature about a particular author. Just use the drop down arrow to change from All Fields to Subject Terms. You may find these Subject Terms useful:

  • Drama 20th century history and criticism
  • Drama in education
  • Drama medieval
  • Farce
  • Ireland drama
  • One-act plays
  • Shakespeare
  • Tragedy
  • Women drama
  • Jewish theater
