Agricultural Studies

A University of Lethbridge Guide to Agricultural Studies Resources

Databases for Agriculture

Research articles are grouped inside databases (or indexes, as they were once known) and are an excellent place to begin your research. Instead of beginning on the library homepage and searching through everything in the library collection, starting within an agriculture database will only show you resources related to agriculture.

For example, imagine you want peer-reviewed, scholarly articles about optimal growing conditions for sweetgrass. A search for sweetgrass on the library's homepage will include the suggestion of Kimmerer's Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge and the Teachings of Plants, which is an excellent book but not particularly focussed on your research need.

Save yourself time. Select an Agriculture database from the list below to make your initial searches more effective.

Additional Agriculture Resources

Want to conduct a very thorough search? Use the links below. We offer additional titles independently as well as through consortial agreements with Canadian Knowledge Research Network (CRKN), Council of Prairie & Pacific University Libraries (COPPUL), and The Alberta Library (TAL).

For any information (articles, books, and so on) the library doesn't already own, please request it. We will find it for you at no charge, usually within a few business days. Just complete an interlibrary loan request.
