Very versatile. Many aimed at younger audiences, but not all.
Can start a conversation at any grade level across disciplines.
Text and illustration are fused together, to provide more than either can do alone.
May be narrative as well as conceptual, wordless, informational and biographical books.
Authors and illustrators frequently experiment with new styles.
Standard Length is 32 pages, but may vary from 28-48.
Many good picture books are available online and can be projected to the group (visit our Literature page).
