APA Citation Style, 6th Edition : General Guidelines

A University of Lethbridge Library guide to APA Citation Style, 6th Edition.

General Guidelines

In APA, as with most citation styles, you need two pieces for a complete citation: the in-text portion, where you refer to the work; and the full citation in your References list at the end of the paper. You need to cite anything that is not your own original idea, either by paraphrasing their work or quoting it directly.
