What's the Research-Related Purpose?

To provide cloud-based storage, access and synchronization of files via the Internet.
Backup storage and file backup for photos, videos, files, etc.

Additional Information:

Google Drive is free but requires creation of a Google account.
Encompasses Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides, an office suite that permits collaborative editing of documents.
Note that storage is likely outside of Canada and therefore not suitable for sensitive data.
