Finding Government Documents

Government bodies publish a wealth of information related to health sciences and Indigenous studies topics. As virtually all government documents are now published in electronic format, you should look for recent government publications online rather than in the Library's physical collections. Older publications, on the other hand, may only be available in print.

Use the drop down menu to limit your search to Canadian, American, or intergovernmental organization (e.g. UN, EU) documents. Results for Canadian government documents may be further limited to federal, provincial, or municipal websites from the results page.

Finding Government Documents in the Catalogue

The Library Catalogue indexes both print and electronic government documents. Use the search box below or our advanced catalogue search page to find government documents through the Library. If you use the advanced search, be sure to limit the material type to "Gov Doc."

 

For online documents, a link is provided in the catalogue record. Most print materials are located in the Government Documents Collection on Level 9 North of the Library and are arranged according to the CODOC classification system. Some print documents are interspersed through the Main Collection, also on Level 9 of the Library.
