MLA Citation Style, 9th Edition: Sound Recording

Sound Recording - Example

In-Text:

(Strauss)

Works Cited:

Strauss, Johann. Die Fledermaus: Highlights. Performance by Bratislava City Chorus, HNH International, 1994.

NOTE: For works with no page numbers, such as sound recordings, it is preferable to include the creator's name in the text and omit a parenthetical reference altogether.

The person cited first (e.g., composer, conductor, performer) in a works cited entry for a sound recording depends on the desired emphasis. See the MLA Handbook for more information.

If a recording was obtained online, include a link to the website at the end of the citation.
