The format of citations for government information depends on many factors, including which government or government department provides the information, who authored it, whether it is available in print or online, and what kind of information it is (e.g. report, bill, statute, committee proceeding, statistic). For all but the most simple citations (which may follow the format of the above example), we recommend that you consult the MLA Handbook (5.5.20) or one of the following webpages:
