MLA Citation Style, 8th Edition: Sound Recording

A University of Lethbridge Library guide to MLA style citations.

pp. 28, 39, 57.

IT:     (Strauss)

WC:   Strauss, Johann. Die Fledermaus: Highlights. Performed by Bratislava City Chorus, HNH International, 1994.

NOTE: For works with no page numbers, such as sound recordings, it is preferable to include the creator's name in the text and omit a parenthetical reference altogether.

The person cited first (e.g. composer, conductor, performer) in a works cited entry for a sound recording depends on the desired emphasis. See the MLA Handbook (5.7.2).

If a recording was obtained online, include a link to the website at the end of the citation.
