Example 1 – Two Authors

First Author’s Last Name, First Author’s First Name, and Second Author’s First and Last Names. Title. Publisher, Year of Publication.

Example 2 – Two Editors

First Author’s Last Name, First Author’s First Name, and Second Author’s First and Last Names, editors. Title. Publisher, Year of Publication.

IT:     (Shatz and Wilkinson 156)

WC:   Shatz, Marilyn, and Louise C. Wilkinson, editors. The Education of English Language Learners: Research to

                  Practice. Guilford, 2010.

 

Example 3 – Three or more Authors or Editors

First Author’s Last Name, First Author’s First Name, et al. Title. Publisher, Year of Publication.

IT:     (Bennett et al. 303)

WC:   Bennett, Tony, et al. New Keywords: A Revised Vocabulary of Culture and Society. Blackwell, 2005.

               

 

NOTE: In the case of more than three authors or editors, it is also acceptable to include all of the authors' or editors' names in the in-text parenthetical reference and works cited entry, if you choose to do so. Whichever you choose, be consistent.
